Our Story
At Bloomsbury Cello School, we are dedicated to providing exceptional cello lessons in the heart of London. Our approach follows the renowned Suzuki method, focusing on individual and group sessions. We are passionate about nurturing musical talent and offering a platform for growth and creativity.

Our Suzuki qualified cello teacher is dedicated to providing a supportive and stimulating learning environment. She teaches one-to-one lessons and holds end-of-term concerts for the students of the school. She also runs Suzuki Group Classes on Friday afternoons, which are open to anyone who learns with a Suzuki cello teacher.

Catherine Porter
Cello Teacher
​
Catherine is an experienced cellist and cello teacher based in London. She studied Music at Cambridge University before going on to achieve a Master's in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music. Catherine is a qualified Suzuki teacher. Alongside her work for Bloomsbury Cello School, Catherine teaches at City Junior School and the City of London School for Girls. ​She is also an active freelance cellist who plays with orchestras, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. She holds a valid DBS certificate.

Joaquín Cruz Lamas

Joaquín is a PhD candidate with experience in teaching and tutoring. He has 12 years of teaching experience and is now a teaching assistant at King's College London. Joaquín has organised many concerts and musical events. He also takes on administrative roles related to his teaching work.
